This seminar is open to sworn law enforcement professionals from all agencies. No prior Jiu-jitsu experience is required. We will cover simple & effective defensive tactics techniques both standing & on the ground, based on the principles of Gracie Jiu-jitsu. This class will focus on some of the most common scenarios that law enforcement officers may encounter, including defenses to common types of assaults, control techniques, weapon retention, & handcuffing techniques. The instructor, Jon Plyler, is a former sworn law enforcement officer with over 15 years of law enforcement experience. He is a black belt in Jiu-jitsu under the legendary Royce Gracie, and is a certified defensive tactics, firearms, & ground defense instructor. Prior to leaving the department to teach Jiu-jitsu full time, he served as the lead defensive tactics instructor for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.Space is limited, so pre-register early to reserve your spot. Students should wear appropriate training attire (gi pants or BDU style pants/t-shirt. It is recommended to bring your duty belt, however NO LIVES WEAPONS OF ANY KIND will be allowed in the training environment.
